Week 12: Weekly Plugs
It’s time for this weeks edition of weekly plugs! Your chance to get ahead of some pretty average players to plug into your lineup and save you from a painful week 12 bye or injury.
Danny Amendola (WR) Dolphins
There’s nothing sexy about having to play a Dolphin on your lineup, I get that, but hear me out. Amendola has been fairly consistent since week 6, unfortunately, that’s when Brock Osweiller was throwing him the ball, which is likely not the case going forward.
However, Tannehill is coming off a shoulder injury that should see him playing high percentage passes against the Colts, who have allowed the 2nd highest pass percentage against in the league, at 72%. You can expect Tannehill to throw a lot of short middle and short right passes, where he’s been the most effective through his career, and that’s exactly where Amendola lives.
Gus Edwards (RB) Ravens
With the Lamar Jackson experiment likely to continue this week, you can expect this monstrous North/South runner to be the main beneficiary of the new style offense. Jackson has the East/West covered, and Edwards took on 49 snaps compared to 17 for anyone else in the backfield.
He’s got a good matchup against the Raiders, and with his size, good upside on redzone looks and scores.
Justin Reid (S) Texans
Reid is coming of a huge pick 6 last week, and 2 picks in his last 3 games. He’s been looking really strong and playing a high flying game in the backfield alongside The Honey Badger. His next matchup is against either a banged up Mariota or Blaine Gabbert. I’ll take my chances on Reid over those guys all week.
Brandon Membane (DT) Chargers
What’s that, a DT? Yea, we went there. Liguet is out, and Membane has the pedigree from his time in Seattle to step in and continue to contribute on this Chargers line. He’s averaging 3.2 tackles a game, and with their next matchup being the Cardinals, there’s upside now for some sack love and a tackles in the backfield.
He took 66% of snaps during the game Liguet was out, and should have at least that opportunity heading into this week.
